Jeff Newman authors new state bill

The Massachusetts State Senate filed a new bill entitled the "Free Flow of Information Act" which would protect reporters from having to disclose confidential sources. Jeff Newman, a Media and Litigation Partner at Prince Lobel, helped to craft the bill after the recent cases including those of New York Times reporter Judith Miller and former Boston Globe reporter Richard A. Knox. Currently 31 states have a shield law in place and Newman believes that this is simply a "ripple effect" from the current controversy.
